Hello Students and Families! This is your monthly news letter for the month of October. Reminder that we will not have school on Monday the 15th, as it is a Professional Education Day. This month we will be hosting our annual Trunk-or-Treat right here at Azalea Elementary. For this event, parents and staff decorate the trunks of their cars for Halloween and pass out candy to students after school. The past few years of Trunk-or-Treat have been incredible, and we are excited to see all of the fun costumes and trunks that this year will bring! This event will be held on October 26th at 6pm. All Azalea families are welcome! We we also be doing our annual Halloween parade on October 31st. Students are allowed to wear costumes to school on this day, and families are welcome to watch as we parade around the school and show off our super and spooky costumes! Hope to see you all there!

• Sight Words: will, your, write, pictures, read, draw, was, after
• Vocabulary:
  chapter, draw, heading, margin

• Math: Addition and Subtraction within twenty, introduction of fact families. Ex. 1+4=5, 4+1=5, 5-1=4, 5-4=1
• Science: Fast and slow. How do objects in our world move fast and slow?
• ELA: Read about owls and create a flip book using information we have learned. Writing will include text features such as table of contents, headings, pictures, captions, etc.
  

• Homework: Complete weekly reading log. 30 minutes of reading per night, answer question in reading log pertaining to the book you read. Math GO pages 43-45. Due Friday 10/26
